KANSAS CITY, Mo. Jerseys NFL Wholesale . -- Yadier Molina looked perfectly comfortable in the No. 2 spot in the lineup. Batting second for only the third time in his career, Molina homered and drove in four runs to help the St. Louis Cardinals beat the slumping Kansas City Royals 6-3 on Monday. Molina hit a two-run homer in the first inning and doubled home a run in the third before his sacrifice fly in the fourth scored Pete Kozma. "Yadier is pretty flexible," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. "We like him wherever he hits. Today he did a nice job hitting in the second position." Molina had batted fifth 40 times and sixth seven times this year. "It doesnt matter for me," he said. "Ive got the same approach: Im going to be aggressive." While the Cardinals own the best road record in the majors at 19-9, the Royals dropped their ninth straight home game -- one shy of the franchise record set last year. "Were playing good," Molina said. "Weve got some good offence. Right now, were seeing the ball pretty good. Were finding some holes. Were showing the people weve got a pretty good team. Hopefully we can continue to do that for the rest of the season." The anticipated pitchers duel between Adam Wainwright and James Shields failed to materialize. Wainwright (7-3) struck out five and walked none in eight innings for the win. He allowed 12 hits, his most since Sept. 14, 2010, against the Chicago Cubs. The right-hander gave up 12 hits over 22 1-3 innings in his previous three starts. "Early on, they got some hits off some bad pitches and I felt like as the game went on they put some really good at-bats against me and hit some good pitches as well," Wainwright said. "I broke several of their bats and they found holes. The got some good hits as well on good pitches. I think as a pitcher no matter what happens on the other side you just have to keep battling and keep making pitches and eventually if you keep making pitches things will work out." Edward Mujica gave up a hit in the ninth but earned his 15th save in as many opportunities. Shields (2-6) yielded nine hits and season highs of six runs and five walks over six innings while losing his fourth straight start. "I wasnt commanding my fastball and I was getting behind in the count and then I started walking guys," Shields said. "Weve just got to gut it out. Weve got great effort in here." After rain delayed the start for 62 minutes, the Cardinals opened the game with Matt Carpenters single and Molinas third home run. It was the first time Molina had faced Shields. "Shields is a good pitcher," Molina said. "My brother (caught) him in Tampa. I watched him a bunch of times on TV. Ive got a pretty good idea what he brings to the table. He made a couple of mistakes in the middle and I took advantage." Royals rookie David Lough, who had a career-high four hits, led off the first with a double and scored on Alex Gordons single. Molinas double in the third scored Daniel Descalso. Molina scored on Allen Craigs single. The Royals answered with two runs in the bottom half. Gordon scored on a wild pitch and Eric Hosmer contributed an RBI single. The Cardinals expanded their lead in the sixth when Carpenters double scored Descalso, who had three hits and a walk. "We showed some life," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "We had Wainwright on the ropes, but we couldnt get the big hit." NOTES: Cardinals RHP Jake Westbrook threw all his pitches in a bullpen session and experienced no pain in the tender elbow that put him on the disabled list May 9. After that, Westbrook cancelled an afternoon flight to see Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion on his elbow. ... The Cardinals optioned RHP Carlos Martinez to Triple-A Memphis, where he will start after seven relief appearances in the majors. The 21-year-old Martinez has primarily been a starter in the minors. ... The Cardinals scratched pitching prospect Michael Wacha from a Sunday start with Memphis. He could start Thursday at St. Louis against the Royals. "Were still checking our options," Matheny said. ... 3B Mike Moustakas was held out of the Royals lineup with a bruised quadriceps, but was available if needed. ... The Cardinals recalled RHP Victor Marte from Memphis, where he had 10 saves. ... LF Matt Holliday, in an 0-for-14 skid, was not in the Cardinals lineup. 20:50ET 27-05-13 Jerseys NFL China .Y. -- The Hamilton Bulldogs scored three unanswered goals to down the Utica Comets 3-2 in American Hockey League play Saturday. The native of Valleyfield, Que., is the second McGill standout in as many seasons, and the third in program history, to claim the Brodrick Trophy. Forward Ann-Sophie Bettez was the recipient a year ago, while goaltender Kim St-Pierre, a three-time Olympic gold medallist, was honoured following the 2002-03 campaign. Daoust also became the first player in CIS womens hockey history to be named rookie of the year and MVP in back-to-back seasons. Other award winners announced at the All-Canadian Banquet at the Marriott Bloor Yorkville Hotel in Toronto were Guelph forward Christine Grant, who was named the nations top freshman; St. Thomas captain Kayla Blackmore, who received the Marion Hilliard Award celebrating excellence in athletics, academics and community involvement; and UBCs Graham Thomas, named coach of the year in his first season behind the bench. BRODRICK TROPHY (player of the year): Mélodie Daoust, McGill Daoust took the CIS womens hockey world by storm in her rookie campaign a year ago when she won the RSEQ scoring race and finished third in the country with 43 points (18-25-43) in only 18 league games. There was no sophomore jinx this season for the member of the Canadian national under-22 program. She repeated as RSEQ scoring champion and also claimed the CIS crown with a remarkable 54 points in only 20 contests, which tied the Quebec conference single-season record set by Bettez in 2008-09. Her 21 goals were good for second in the country behind linemate Katia Clément-Heydra, while her 33 assists were a CIS best and set a new RSEQ mark. Daoust also ranked third in Quebec in both game-winning goals (4) and power play markers (5). Thanks in large part to her stellar play, the Martlets (20-0) were the only team in the country to maintain a perfect record in the regular season. “Mélodie is a gifted player and possesses an unbelievable skill set combined with a great mind for the game,” said Peter Smith, the former national team coach who just completed his 13th year as bench boss at McGill. “She sees the game as well as any player Ive coached. Although she scores a lot of goals, her real strength is as a playmaker. A strong leader by example, she practices, prepares and plays with tremendous intensity and focus. She always has a smile on her face, is all business on the ice and gets the job done.” The other finalists for the Brodrick Trophy were forwards Alex Normore of St. Francis Xavier, Amanda Parkins of Guelph and Hayley Wickenheiser of Calgary. ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Christine Grant, Guelph Grant became the first-ever Guelph player to capture CIS rookie-of-the-year honours. A native of Mississauga, Ont., the 5-foot-6 right winger played in all 26 league contests for the Gryphons in her university debut. She tallied 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 points, good for fourth in OUA scoring and ninth in the nation, while playing a very disciplined game and spending only eight minutes in the penalty box. The environmental engineering student, who was voted to the second OUA all-star team, was a major contributor as Guelph finished second in the conference with a stellar 21-3-2 record, thanks in part to a 14-game win streak. “Christine is an explosive forward with the ability to finish plays around the net,” said Gryphon head coach Rachel Flanagan. “She distributes the puck well then gets in position to get it back. She plays with the patience usually seen from a senior player and has a great shot from in tight and from outside lanes.” The other nominees for the CIS award were Saint Marys goalie Sienna Cooke, as well as forwards Gabrielle Davidson of McGill and Jessica Kampjes of Alberta. COACH OF THE YEAR: Graham Thomas, UBC Thomas is the first UBC womens hockey bench boss to be honoured by his CIS peers. In his first season in the league, Thomas operated one of the greatest turnarounds in CIS hisstory, in any sport. Wholesale NFL Jerseys. He took a Thunderbird team that had won only one game a year ago (1-21-2) and led them to third place in the Canada West standings with a program-best 17-7-4 record, only one point behind second-place Regina. UBC virtually re-wrote its entire womens hockey record book in 2012-13. The team earned its first playoff home date, its first post-season series victory, its first conference title and first CIS championship appearance. During conference play, the T-Birds broke school marks for wins, goals scored, goals allowed and longest winning streak. “We are really proud of Graham and all he has accomplished in his first year in CIS,” said Theresa Hanson, Associate Director of Intercollegiate & High Performance Sport. “His passion for hockey and his technical knowledge of the game is remarkable – we are very fortunate to have him as part of the Thunderbirds coaching staff and wish him the best of luck in his first CIS national championship.” StFXs David Synishin, Guelphs Rachel Flanagan and Montreals Isabelle Leclaire were also in running. MARION HILLIARD AWARD (hockey, academics & community service): Fayla Blackmore, St. Thomas Blackmore, a forward from Fredericton, became the first St. Thomas winner of a CIS award in womens hockey. In her fifth and final campaign, the Tommies captain led the team in goals (12), assists (9) and points (21) in league play and earned a spot on the first AUS all-star squad after finishing second in conference scoring. St. Thomas took second place in the AUS standings with a solid 16-7-1 mark. Blackmore spearheaded bringing the ‘You Can Play project to STU, an initiative to flush out homophobia and discrimination from athletics across North America. She is a past recipient of the Dr. Tony Rhinelander Nature of History Prize for commitment to the field of history and research, and currently maintains a 4.3 grade point average in a demanding Education program. She also played a role in fundraising efforts for Haileys Dreams – a young girl suffering from juvenile metachromatic leukodystrophy; the New Brunswick division of the Canadian Mental Health Association; as well as breast cancer awareness initiatives. Blackmore continues to coach young, up-and-coming female hockey players, coaching the Team New Brunswick under-17 squad to a gold-medal finish this past year. “Kayla represents the ideal of the student-athlete. She excels in the classroom and on the ice but never forgets that she is part of a bigger community both the university and the one that surrounds it,” said STU head coach Peter Murphy. “It is great to see her years of dedication to various causes being recognized in this manner. She is a tremendous athlete but an even better person.” Ottawas Cassie Seguin, UOITs Jill Morillo and Calgarys Tanya Morgan were also nominated for the Marion Hilliard Award. ALL-CANADIAN TEAMS The all-Canadian teams were also announced on Wednesday, with the reigning national champion Calgary Dinos and the Western Mustangs each placing a pair of players on the top unit. Joining Daoust on the first squad were conference MVPs Wickenheiser and Parkins, as well as Western goaltender Kelly Campbell and rearguards Katelyn Gosling of Western and Stephanie Ramsay of Calgary. Like Daoust, Dino teammates Wickenheiser and Ramsay were second-team members a year ago. Wickenheiser had previously earned first-team honours in 2010-11, when she was named CIS player of the year. The second CIS unit for 2012-13 is comprised of UBC goalie Danielle Dube, Manitobas Caitlin MacDonald and Montreals Sophie Brault on defence, as well as McGills Katia Clément-Heydra, StFXs Alex Normore and Queens Morgan McHaffie on offence.Normore, the AUS MVP, was honoured at the national level for the third straight campaign, including a first-team nod last year.In addition to Grant, the all-rookie squad is made up of conference top freshmen Cooke, Davidson and Kampjes, as well as defenders Alexis Larson of Regina and Maude Laramée of Ottawa. Moulding and his Alberta rink from Coaldale and Airdrie captured the 2014 Canadian mixed curling championship with an 8-5 win over defending champion Cory Heggestad of Ontario, ten years after he fell short to Saskatchewans Steve Laycock at the Rideau Club in the final of the Canadian junior mens championship. "I thought about it. Its even the same sheet of ice," Moulding said with a chuckle. "Its something thats bothered me for 10 years. "Just two years ago, somebody was talking to me about it and asked me about the double I missed in seven (against Laycock) and I damn near started to cry. So, yeah, it puts a bit of a lid on that for me. It was something that always chafed me a little bit." Mouldings rink of Anna-Marie Moulding, Heather Jensen, and Brent Hamilton claimed Albertas 10th title at the Canadian Mixed, and first since Calgarys Dean Ross prevailed in 2008. Alberta, 9-2 and first place after the round robin, had a slow start, giving up a steal of one to an Ontario team that won three times on Friday to reach the final. But Moulding came back strong the next two ends, tapping for a deuce in the second and stealing one in the third whhen Heggestad attempted a double-takeout. cheap nfl jerseys. But Heggestad tied it with single points in the next two ends, and forced Moulding to a single in the sixth before taking his first lead of the game with a great double-takeout in the seventh to score two. A runback double-takeout from Hamilton set up Mouldings tap for a deuce to retake the lead. In the ninth, two Ontario picks left Heggestad with only a tough in-off to score; he would miss it, and Moulding would steal two to put the game and the national championship away. "It was a crazy game," said Moulding. "We had our chances. We almost broke it open in five when I had a shot for five or six. After missing that it felt like somebody kicking me in the gut. But then you go, OK, were tied with the hammer. Someone tells us were tied with hammer with five ends to go to win a Canadian championship, you take it, right? With the win, Moulding gets two entries (two two-person teams) into the 2014 Canadian Mixed Doubles trials, slated for March 19-23, also in Ottawa. The winner of the 32-team competition will then represent Canada at the World Mixed Doubles in Scotland in April. The 2015 Canadian Mixed Championship is scheduled for Nov. 8-15, with the pre-qualifier to take place Nov. 6 and 7 at the Granite Club, in North Bay, Ont. ' ' '

Both teams are coming off draws this past weekend and will be gunning for the full points in the midweek fixture. The Rapids are currently unbeaten in five league fixtures, but also have just one win in their last eight. A lack of consistent offense has been the main culprit. Its another one where we feel like we walked away with a positive effort but nothing to show for it, Rapids midfielder Jeff Larentowicz told mlssoccer.com after a 0-0 draw with Toronto FC on Sunday. Colorado (4-3-4) is hoping for a more consistent effort with a quick turnaround to New York. This is probably going to be a little bit of a microcosm of the rest of the year, Larentowicz said of the trip. We know that games are going to come quick. Its just a tough one. Thats why we wwanted to get full points [vs. cheap nfl jerseys china wholesale. TFC] because playing in New York against a strong squad is going to be difficult with midweek travel. Thats why we wanted to win but this is our life. We move on, we have to play another game. New York (4-2-4) is moving on as well after rescuing a draw at Houston thanks to a stoppage-time equalizer by Mehdi Ballouchy. The Red Bulls got a first-minute goal from Dane Richards, but eventually went down 2-1 before Ballouchy rescued a share of the points for the visitors. The Red Bulls, who are supposed to be the class of the Eastern conference, were outplayed for long stretches in the game on Saturday, something they will need to correct if they want a positive result on Wednesday. Theyve got a lot of good players, but it comes down to us putting it on ourselves and I think we can do better managing the game, Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall told the leagues website after the game. In the end, we needed to keep the ball better and needed to fight harder than them to win set-piece battles. ' ' '

ST. wholesale jerseys . LOUIS -- Before hiring Gregg Williams as his defensive co-ordinator for the second time, St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher cleared it with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Williams was part of Fishers first staff with the Rams in 2012, but only for a few weeks before getting suspended for his role in the Saints bounty scandal. After a news conference to introduce Williams Thursday, Fisher said hed been in contact with Goodell throughout the process two years ago and "I wanted to inform him about the direction I was thinking about going." "He was very excited, and he endorsed it." Before signing Williams, Fisher said the two spent a few days revisiting the 2012 experience. The suspension left the Rams in a bind and they went without a co-ordinator in 12. Fisher said then that the suspension was "warranted" and asked if hed consider Williams in the future said hed "cross that bridge when we come to it." After the 2012 season he fired Williams son, defensive line coach Blake Williams. During his suspension, Williams had no contact with the Rams but said he attended all of the home games. He was a defensive assistant last year at Tennessee and called it a "good stop." "His handprint was all over the Tennessee defence, it was obvious that hed gone in there and had a significant impact," Fisher said. "Id say 60-70 per cent of our terminology is his. I just really felt strongly about just pulling together." Fisher initiated contact a few weeks after the season ended, and believes hed surprised Williams. He made room by firing Tim Walton after one season, telling Walton hed done nothing wrong but that Williams had been his first choice. The 55-year-old Williams was defensive co-ordinator under Fisher with the Titans from 1997-2000. "Things are in perspective, things are behind him, his past is his past," Fisher said. "The arrows going up with the defence and I just felt like Gregg was the person to make sure that happens." Williams shed no light on the discussions, saying "Those are things that are between Jeff and I." He deflected a question about how hes changed as a coach since his suspension, saying every coach must adjust, but thought the familiarity would make this a good fit. "Its fun to be back with people who think and believe the same way you are," Williams said. "So now you get a chance to spend more time with the players, because youre spending less time having to sell or defend yourself with your staff before you ever get with the players." Fisher said the hire got a big thumbs-up from players, adding "my phone was blowing up." Middle linebacker James Laurinaitis, who was at Rams Park for a workout, anticipates a more aggressive approach. The Rams have one of the NFLs top pass rushes but enter free agency and the draft needy in the secondary. "Win or lose, I want to know that were going to go down swinging," Laurinaitis said. "Everyone Ive known that has played for him just absolutely loves the guy." Williams, who grew up in Missouri, said he hoped this was his last coaching stop. Williams scoffed at a claim from a player who said the coach bragged about using a stolen playbook to help Tennessee beat Jacksonville in the 1999 AFC championship game. Williams called the allegation by former Jaguars defensive end Renaldo Wynn "a joke" and added he had every teams playbook. "Every time a free agent walks in a building, he gives you the playbook," Williams said. "We all have everybodys playbook. When you turn the film on, do you have their playbook? "How much traction did Omaha get when Peyton (Manning) said Omaha 46 times one game on TV? Whats that mean? It doesnt mean anything." Williams said hes watched all of the Rams games from last season but declined to discuss specific needs. Fisher wants his new co-ordinator to concentrate on improving a defence that was ranked 15th overall. "I told Gregg this time around hes going to be the mad scientist," Fisher said. "Hes not going to do a lot of player evaluations, Im not going to take up his time evaluating unrestricted free agents and getting ready for the draft. "I want him to take this defence and run with it." cheap jerseys . -- Adam Cracknell scored a tiebreaking goal with 2:20 to play and Chris Stewart had a goal and two assists as the St. Cheap Real Madrid Jersey . Dating back at least 20 years, studies began to emerge suggesting their may be a price to be paid for all those hits, a notion that only makes sense to anyone whose every watched a game up-close and witnessed what players put themselves through on every single snap.TORONTO – James Reimer chose his words carefully, but made no secret of his unhappiness. “I dont know if theres a goaltender in the league thats happy when they get pulled,” said Reimer following an eventual 5-4 shootout loss to the Red Wings on Saturday night. The 25-year-old got the hook after just 20 minutes at the ACC – in yet another sloppy first period for the Leafs – yielding three goals to the Red Wings on 12 shots. It was the fourth time in 18 starts that Reimer has been pulled and clearly it stung. “Obviously I didnt want to get pulled,” he said. “Thats the last thing I wanted. I wanted to hang in there. But thats Randys decision. And I respect what he decides. I may not like it, but thats irrelevant. Hes the one who makes those decisions.” Randy Carlyle sensed something amiss with his starting goaltender on the very first shot of the game, one that he says bounced in and out of Reimers glove. “I thought the rebounds were bouncing away from him,” added Carlyle. And though the first goal was a strike of brilliance from Pavel Datsyuk – opposite Torontos fourth line no less – he felt the final two markers were stoppable. The first, a wraparound from Joakim Andersson, was one Reimer admittedly wanted back. The second saw Tomas Jurco camped all alone in front of the net – Jake Gardiner falling down in the corner – able to tuck a backhand through the Leafs netminder. “When a goaltender is in the zone, pucks usually dont go through him,” said Carlyle, “and their third goal went through him.” Two minutes still remained in the period when Jurcos goal made it 3-1 for the Red Wings, but it was at that moment that Carlyle decided to start Jonathan Bernier in the second frame. He told Bernier as much as the team exited the ice after a disappointing opening frame. “When you do that you do that based upon not specifically the individual thats getting pulled,” Carlyle explained, “you do it for your team, that somehow you can get a spark for your team and I thought Bernier came in and did that for us.” The Leafs scored twice in a resilient second period before snatching a temporary 4-3 lead in the third on David Clarksons first goal since Nov. 23. Tomas Tatar would even the action at four with less than seven minutes to go – capitalizing on a turnover by Gardiner along the wall – before Daniel Alfredsson iced the first meeting between the two clubs in a shootout. Though Bernier stepped in and stopped 25 of 26 shots, thus backstopping the comeback, one could understand Reimers displeasure with the quick hook. First, the team in front of him was admittedly far off-point early, standing around, in the words of Carlyle, as Detroit strangled hold of the action. And then there was the effort of the Manitoba native just two nights earlier, his 34 saves effectively carrying the Leafs to an eventual two points against Phoenix. Throw in the fact that Reimer has been pulled four times already versus zero for his counterpart in Bernier (despite entering the night with slightly better numbers) and its easy to understand where some frustration might lie with the lack of rope from the head coach. “I dont know if I want to really get into that,” said Reimer, who was making three consecutive starts for the first time all season. It was Joffrey Lupul after the game against the Coyotes who observed that “the one thing we know we can count on Reims for is compete level and battle.” And on this night Reimer was not given that opportunity to battle and perhaps thats what stung most of all. “I think thats what any goaltender wants,” said Reimer. “You want that chance to get in there and fight and battle for your teammates and try and get a win. Obviously Randy had other thoughts and hes the coach and hes the one who makes those decisions. I dont. I just try and stop pucks.” Five Points 1. Glass Half-Empty The Leafs actually scored first for the 22nd time this season – Cody Fransons second of the year – but the lead evaporated less than two minutes later on the goal from Datsyuk. “Obviously we didnt have a very good first period,” said Carlyle. “We score the first goal and then we basically stood around for the rest of the period and watched them do their thing. They out-competed us badly in the first period. We thought that there was no way that we could duplicate that period again. We found a way in the second to get our game going.” “We dug ourselves a hole and it takes a toll on you trying to dig out of a two-goal hole like that,” said Lupul, who scored the third Toronto goal on a power-play. “If we take one thing from the game its probably get off to a little better start.” Toronto has been outscored 31-23 in first periods this season, capturing the lead just 10 times in 38 games. 2. Glass Half-Full “If were looking at positives, its the way we battled back in the second,” said Lupul. Cheap USA Soccer Jersey. . Just as he did on the opening goal from Franson, it was the effort of Peter Holland on the forecheck that spurred the Leafs second goal and subsequent comeback. Holland freed the puck from Kyle Quincey behind the Detroit goal before it eventually found its way to Dion Phaneuf for a one-time blast. Quincey was then whistled for a high-stick on Kadri later in the period propelling Lupuls game-tying power-play marker, his 11th this season. Clarkson gave the Leafs a brief lead in the third, crashing the crease of former Leaf Jonas Gustavsson, who made 19 saves. “Coming back against a good team like this it should be a huge confidence [boost],” said Bernier. Toronto has outscored the opposition 44-33 in second periods this season and has led 16 times after 40 minutes. 3. Clarkson Snaps Drought Clarkson had gone 12 consecutive games without a goal and had just one assist in that span, but he broke the spell with his third this season against Detroit. Earlier in the day he remarked on his struggles to generate offence. “A lot of athletes go through a lot of ups and downs no matter what sport it is,” he said. “Youll see a guy hit well for a long time and all of a sudden hes on a lull.” Just as he had against the Coyotes, the 29-year-old remained in a shutdown role against the Red Wings. Paired with Jay McClement and Nik Kulemin, Clarksons line was pegged to play up against Detroits top unit of Datsyuk, Todd Bertuzzi and the aforementioned Tatar. Datsyuk did find the scoresheet, but managed to do so with the Leafs fourth line and third defensive pairing on the ice. “Youre pleased when you win,” said Clarkson, asked if he was happy to find some offence. “Its not an individual game or an individual effort.” 4. Kadris struggles on the Draw Of the 88 centres who qualify for the league faceoff crown, only four have been worse this season than Nazem Kadri, who sits 84th overall. Kadri, who finished 4-14 on the draw against the Red Wings, has won only 42.3 per cent of the 494 faceoffs hes taken this season. The 23-year-old is down slightly from the 44 per cent mark he posted last season. Jerred Smithson, a career 55 per cent marksman, said the biggest lesson hed offer to a young centre in need of advice is “compete level”. “Its just wanting to win the battle more than that other guy,” he told the Leaf Report. “Thats the biggest thing for me anyway. You know theres always different techniques, but just the will and the compete going into the circle and wanting it just that much more.” Smithson acknowledges that different tricks and techniques also make a difference, but notes that “if youre going to start with one thing its just the battle. For me its so much harder when I know a guys coming in there and hes going to battle his butt off to win that draw. For me, that would be the starting point.” 5. Kadri on the Top Line Kadri had a pair of goals against Dallas on Dec. 5 when he replaced an injured Tyler Bozak on the Leafs top unit. But since that point, the 23-year-old has been quiet offensively alongside Phil Kessel and James van Riemsdyk, totaling just three points over the next nine games. “Youre asking a young player in Kadri to fill some shoes of a veteran player,” said Randy Carlyle of the shift from Bozak to Kadri. “Hes a young player still cutting his teeth to become a higher level first line, second line centre, whatever word you want to describe an offensive player. Were asking a lot of a young player right now where last year we were able to use Nazzie more as a third line option and protect him from having to play up against the top two lines of other hockey clubs.” Squaring off mostly against third and fourth lines, Kadri had 14 goals and 35 points through the first 34 games last season. Through the same number of games this season, matched mostly against first and second units, he has 10 goals and 22 points. Bozak is due to return from an oblique injury on Dec. 29. HOUSTON -- The Phoenix Suns did something against the Houston Rockets they had not done in their previous two games. Cheap Texas Rangers Jerseys . Every time the Rockets made a run at the young Suns on Wednesday night, Phoenix responded. Eric Bledsoe had 20 points and seven assists to lead Phoenix to a 97-88 win over Houston on Wednesday night that snapped the Suns two-game losing streak. PJ Tucker added 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting with six rebounds. Channing Frye had 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting and grabbed six rebounds, and Goran Dragic chipped in 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting for the Suns, who shot 45.6 per cent from the field, including 45.8 per cent from behind the arc. "Throughout the year, we have had games where we have the lead in the fourth quarter," Phoenix coach Jeff Hornacek said. "We have blown some, and as a young team, that happens. You want to see the progress where that doesnt happen. They cut it down, and we could have gotten panicked where we forced shots, but we didnt." Dwight Howard had 15 points and 18 rebounds, Aaron Brooks added 17 points and six assists, and Omri Casspi had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Rockets, who lost their second straight game. James Harden, who was guarded by Tucker, finished with 14 points, hitting 3 of 17 from the field and going 0 for 10 from behind the arc. Patrick Beverley had 12 points and eight rebounds. Houston shot 35 per cent from the floor and turned the ball over 23 times. Houston coach Kevin McHale said the Rockets did not play very well. "In the first quarter, Phoenix came up and got real aggressive with us and were denying us around the court," McHale said. "We didnt handle that very well, and then you compound that with shots not going. We had no flow tonight. . I just thought the 13 assists, 23 turnovers, some really errant passing. We gave up 25 points off our turnovers, so we just fed them." The Rockets opened the fourth quarter with a 13-2 run to cut the Suns lead to 75-74 on Brooks 3-pointer with 7 minutes remaining. As they did throughout the game, the Suns responded, going on a 13-0 run over the next four minutes to expand the lead to 14 on Marcus Morris 3-pointer with 3 minutes remaining. Houston tried to answer, closing within 88-82 on an 8-0 run capped by Brooks 3-pointer with 1:49 remaining. "Playing on the road against the No. 1 offensive team in the league, you know they are going to make a run," Tucker said. "Its just one of those things where you keep playing hard and keep taking those shots. We started missing some shots, but we wanted to stick with it and pushing the ball back up." Again, the Suns would have an answer as Morris connected on a 3-pointer from the corner followed by two free throws from Dragic to push the lead to 11 with 1:15 left. "We know that Houston likes to push the ball," Dragic said. "In every NBA game, we know that every team is going to have a run. If youre solid on defence and play together on offence, I think we find the right open guy at the right time, and he makes shot. Thats huge play." Houston tried once more to slice into the lead, getting it down to seven points on Beverleys 3-pointer with 57 seconds left. Houston got no closer the rest of the way. Howard said the Rockets bad offensive night had nothing to do with them missing shots, the Suns "just played harder than us." "We cant give away games like this," Howard said. "It will come back to bite us in games later this season. Weve got to learn how, no matter how many guys we have out there, short-handed and all, weve got to play the same way, play hard and play aggressive." After the Rockets got to 63-61 on Garcias 3-pointer with 2:20 left in the third, the Suns finished the quarter on a 10-0 run, capped by two free throws by Markieff Morris to take a 12-point lead into the fourth. Houston opened the second half with an 11-4 run to get within 55-51 on Beverleys 3-pointer with 6:50 remaining in the third quarter. Phoenix used a 14-3 run over a three-minute span of the second quarter to take a 47-34 lead on Tuckers 3 with 3:09 remaining in the quarter. The Suns shot 50 per cent in the first half and took a 51-40 lead into the break. Houston shot 29.8 per cent in the first half. "We just didnt have enough energy," Harden said. "We didnt make shots on the offensive end or move the basketball, and they did." NOTES: Jeremy Lin sat out with a right knee sprain. ... Allen Craig hit two homers and drove in three runs, Chris Carpenter gave up eight hits in eight innings, and the Cardinals improved their playoff chances with a 5-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday night. "Common sense is if you allow anything to distract you, then its going to take away from your best shot," St. Louis manager Tony LaRussa said after the Cardinals pulled within 3 1-2 games of the Atlanta Braves in the NL wild-card chase. "So dont think about anything but the next game were going to play. We cant control what Atlanta does. But if we dont win a bunch of games, then its all irrelevant. Were just trying to win the game we play in the series were playing." Albert Pujols also homered for the Cardinals (83-69), who have won nine of 11. The Cardinals remained 6 1-2 back of the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central. "We just need to take one day at a time," Pujols said. "We took todays game. Flip the page and hopefully come tomorrow and try to win the series." St. Louis has 10 games remaining while the Braves (87-66) have nine. Carpenter (10-9) recorded all but four of his outs by groundballs, and induced three double plays. Only three Phillies reached second and none advanced to third. Carpenter finished with five strikeouts and one walk. "I was getting ahead in the count, sinking the ball down and away and getting the ball on the ground, which is key for these guys," Carpenter said. "My stuff was good, commanding down in the strike zone on both sides of the plate with my fastball. When youre against guys who want to swing, if you make good pitches, you get early outs." Chase Utley had three hits for the Phillies (98-53), who rested just two starters a day after clinching their fifth straight NL East title. First baseman Ryan Howard, who is battling a nagging left ankle injury, and catcher Carlos Ruiz didnt start for Philadelphia. Howard is scheduled to have an anti-inflammatory injection in the ankle on Monday. "Their pitcher pitched good," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. "He was changing speeds and had a good sinker. The double plays made it difficult to score runs." Pujols put the Cardinals up 2-0 in the first inning by launching Cole Hamels first pitch into the second deck in left field. The St. Louis sluugger had been just 3 for 20 (. Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping. 150) off Hamels entering the game. "Pujols hit a fastball that looked like it was inside, but Pujols is Pujols," Manuel said. It was the 36th homer for Pujols, who is five RBIs shy of 100 in his quest for his 11th straight season of batting .300 with 30 homers and 100 RBIs. He went 1 for 4 and his averaged dropped a point to .300. "Ive seen it for 11 years," LaRussa said. "It got everybody excited and Hamels got really, really tough, so its a good thing we got him before everything got working." St. Louis increased the margin to 4-0 in the sixth on Craigs two-run shot. Craig twice failed in sacrifice bunt attempts, but he made up for it with a long drive to deep left centre. Craigs homer was the 17th allowed by Hamels this season, which is the most on the heralded Phillies staff. Craig added a solo shot to centre in the eighth off Joe Blanton. "Hes hit every place hes played," LaRussa said of Craig. "And hes gotten big hits and those are two big ones." Hamels (14-9) was vying to tie his career high with 15 wins, but two bad pitches did him in. Outside of the homers, the left-hander was solid with nine strikeouts and no walks. Philadelphia remained four victories shy of setting a franchise record for wins in a season. Fernando Salas completed the shutout with a scoreless ninth. Carpenter hopes the Cardinals can continue the momentum. "You continue to play hard, just like we have all year," he said. "Fortunately, weve been pitching well and hitting well. Some things are going well for us at times and were pitching and playing well. Thats what you have to do. "Weve been playing well and hopefully we can continue it tomorrow and get back home and continue it at home." Notes: Right-hander Justin DeFratus, making his major league debut, pitched a scoreless ninth for the Phillies. Pujols has now reached safely in 34 straight games. St. Louis outfielder Matt Holliday missed his fourth straight game with an inflamed tendon on his right middle finger. The Phillies crowd of 45,063 was the clubs 199th regular-season sellout and 212th straight overall, counting post-season. .. Philadelphia was shut out for just the sixth time this season. ... Cardinals right-hander Kyle Lohse (13-8, 3.62) is scheduled to face right-hander Roy Halladay (18-5, 2.34) at 7:05 Monday night in the finale of the four-game series. ' ' '

CLEVELAND -- From year to year and game to game, the Cleveland Indians never knew what to expect from Fausto Carmona. Cheap Soccer Jerseys . On Thursday, he stunned them again. Carmona, the Indians opening-day starter last season, was arrested in the Dominican Republic for allegedly using a false identity. Officials in his native country are contesting his real name and birthdate. Police spokesman Maximo Baez Aybar said Carmona was arrested in Santo Domingo outside the U.S. consulate, where he had gone to renew his visa. Carmona had played winter ball in the Dominican as he prepared to report to the Indians training camp in Goodyear, Ariz., next month. At this point, his future with the club is uncertain. Aybar said Carmonas real name is apparently Roberto Hernandez Heredia and hes 31, three years older than the pitcher claimed. The Indians list Carmonas birthday as Dec. 7, 1983, in their 2011 media guide. "We were recently made aware of the situation that occurred today in the Dominican Republic and are currently in the process of gathering information," Indians general manager Chris Antonetti said. "We are not prepared to make any additional comment at this time." Carmonas agent said he was caught off-guard by the arrest and that there are Dominican lawyers working on the players behalf. He did not disclose the names of the lawyers. "This took us by complete surprise," agent Jay Alou said. "What we have to do now is wait to find out the process that has to be done with the consulate with this new identity in order to see if he can get a new work visa." Carmonas arrest is the second involving a major leaguer in four months in a false identity case. Miami Marlins reliever Leo Nunez was arrested in September. Last month, an apologetic Nunez said he falsified his identify when he was young so he could play professional baseball. Nunezs real name is Juan Carlos Oviedo and hes 29, a year older than listed in the Marlins media guide. Carmonas career in Cleveland has been one of extremes. After going 1-10 in 2006, the right-hander with a wicked slider came out of nowhere to win 19 games in 2007, shocking the Indians who had briefly experimented with him as a closer. Carmona, though, followed up with a disappointing 2008 season, and in 2009 the club sent him to the lower minors to work on his mechanics. Carmona rebounded to win 13 games in 2010 in manager Manny Actas first season. Although he went just 7-15 last season, Carmona stayed healthy, didnt miss a start and was expected to be part of the starting rotation this season. The Indians picked up his US$7 million option for 2012 in October. The Indians signed Carmona to a four-year contract in 2008. The club has options on him for 2013 at $9 million and 2014 at $12 million. Cleveland signed Carmona as a free agent in 2000. Cheap USA Soccer Jersey . Federer, who owns a record 17 Grand Slam titles, announced Saturday on his website that he will stop working with Annacone after 3 1/2 seasons together. "After numerous conversations culminating at the end of our most recent training block, we felt like this was the best time and path for both of us," the posting continues. The move comes only two days after Federers latest surprising loss in a year filled with them: He was beaten 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-3 in the third round of the Shanghai Masters by Gael Monfils, a former top-10 player now ranked 42nd and recently back from injury. The defeat hurt the 32-year-old Federers chances of qualifying for the season-ending ATP Tour Finals, a tournament that gathers the top eight singles players. Federer used to be a lock for the field, year-in and year-out -- he spent more weeks at No. 1 in the ATP rankings than any other man. But Federer was ranked only No. 7 last Monday and is no longer nearly the dominant presence he was for a decade. The tournament in China was the first for Federer since his fourth-round exit at the U.S. Open, where he lost to 19th-seeded Tommy Robredo in straight sets on Sept. 3. "Roger, when he was No. 1, (compared) to the Roger right now," Robredo said that day, "hes not maybe (playing) with the same confidence, no?" Federer has struggled at times in 2013 with a bad back. Wholesale Soccer Jerseys. . Hes also experimented off and on with a larger racket head. He failed to reach at least one final at any of the four Grand Slam tournaments, something that last happened to him in 2002. That year also marked the last time he was ranked lower than he is now. He lost in the semifinals at the Australian Open in January, the quarterfinals at the French Open in early June, and the second round of Wimbledon -- against a player ranked 116th -- in late June. That ended Federers record run of reaching at least the quarterfinals at 36 consecutive major tournaments. The loss to Robredo gave Federer a new, unwanted streak that he will carry into the 2014 Australian Open: two consecutive losses before the quarterfinals at majors. His last Grand Slam championship came in 2012 at Wimbledon, which he won for the record-tying seventh time. That allowed Federer to return to No. 1 in the rankings, ended a 2 1/2-year major title drought -- and marked the lone Grand Slam trophy Federer and Annacone won as a pair. In Saturdays announcement, Federer refers to a three-year plan he and Annacone, who previously worked with Pete Sampras, established in order to earn a Grand Slam title and a return to No. 1. "Along with many other goals and great memories," the posting says, "these 2 main goals were achieved." ' ' '

PITTSFORD, N. nfl jerseys china .Y. -- Mario Williams was held out of the Buffalo Bills first training camp practice Sunday night after complaining of a sore foot. Coach Doug Marrone provided few details regarding the nature of the injury. He wouldnt say which foot Williams had hurt or how and when it happened. "Mario reported to our athletic training staff that he had a sore foot," Marrone said, following the two-plus hour session at the teams training camp facility in suburban Rochester. "So what we wanted to do was hold him out of practice and let our medical staff evaluate him." Marrone couldnt say how much time Williams might miss because the injury is still being evaluated. The Bills are back on the field Monday afternoon. Williams declined comment after practice, and deferred all questions to Marrone. After acknowledging he was disappointed to miss the opening session, Williams then apologized that he couldnt say anything more. Williams did not appear to be walking with a limp. He did not participate in any individual or team drills, and spent much of practice watching from the sideline with his helmet on. On several occasions, he was spotted bending over frontward to stretch out his back. The foot injury came as a surprise after Williams did not indicate he was experiencing any health issues upon reporting to camp on Friday. Williams was motivated upon arriving at camp, saying he wanted to put behind his inconsistent first season in Buffalo, which came after he signed a six-year, $100 million contract with the team in free agency. Williams led the Bills with 10-1/2 sacks, but his performance was hampered in the first half of the season because of a left wrist injury that was surgically repaired in late October. Starting defensive tackle Kyle Williams was limited in practice, as expected. The team intends to ease the player back in after Williams had surgery this off-season to remove bone spurs from his right foot. wholesale jerseys .
